E3 alternatives this summer

Unsure of how to get your latest gaming news this summer?

With E3 officially cancelled for 2022 we’ve compiled a schedule for this summer’s gaming events so you can stay up to date on what’s new in the gaming world in 2022.

Summer Games Fest (June 9th)

This year’s Summer Games Fest, hosted by Geoff Keighley, will kick things off from June 9th at 2pm EST. You can tune in to watch on YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. We can expect to see a variety of reveals and announcements from the cross-industry showcase as well as interviews at the Day of the Devs indie showcase.

Xbox + Bethesda Games Showcase (June 12th)

Xbox + Bethesda have revealed the date of their annual games reveal on June 12th at 19:00 CEST.

While nothing has been officially announced yet, we can expect to see more of the highly anticipated Starfield and Redfall as well as hopefully getting some insight into Fable(next gen) and Indianna Jones. Other potential titles could be Forza, Avowed, The Outer Worlds 2 and more information about Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2.

Quakecon 2022 (August 18th-20th)

While Bethesda hasn’t revealed much about Quakecon this year, we know that it will once again be an online-only event with an announcement of their intention to return to Dallas for Quakecon 2023. What we know for certain is that there will be new games, hardware and of course the BYOC contests.

Gamescom 2022 (August 24th-28th)

Gamescom 2022 will be one of the biggest gaming events this year taking place in person in Cologne, Germany and digitally via streaming services. Guaranteed to be packed full of various community activities such as cosplay competitions, esports and hands-on gameplay there should be something for everyone. Geoff Keighley will grace us with his presence for the second time, hosting Opening Night Live, we can expect tons of gaming news, trailers and announcements as well as interviews with some of the industry’s leading devs.

Pax WEST (September 2nd-5th)

Pax WEST will be returning this year with an in-person event hosted at the Seattle Convention Center. The biggest gaming convention on the West Coast will be chocked full of vendor and hands-on booths, esports events and more. For those of you who are interested in a less digital gaming experience there’s everything from tabletop games to MTG, the event is truly a celebration of all things gaming.
