THE MOST ANTICIPATED TITLES OF Q1 2023

2023 promises to be a great year for gamers with a slew of fantastic titles set for release. We’ve compiled a list of some of the most highly anticipated games of Q1 2023 so you can catch any hidden gems you might’ve missed.

HOGWART LEGACY - 10th Feb 2023

Since the very first book, many fans have long since fantasized about being a wizard or witch and going to Hogwarts, now, the wait is finally over. Set in the wizarding world in the 1890s, Hogwarts Legacy follows the story of a new student at Hogwarts who is joining in the 5th year. In order to help them catch up with the other students, the ministry of magic has supplied the new student with a wizards field guide. What makes the player character special is their ability to manipulate a mysterious ancient magic. Where it came from and why you can control it are questions you must seek an answer to in addition to your regular wizarding studies. Hogwarts Legacy is a game that allows you to play your own way, with tons of customization from character creation, house, which spells to master and ultimately which path you will follow. Combat is fast-paced and fluid allowing the player to combo spells together in creative and devastating ways. Aside from fans of the series, players that enjoy fantasy RPGs and choice driven games such Dragon Age or Mass Effect will definitely want to check out what this game has to offer.

Wild Hearts - 16th Feb 2023

If you haven’t heard of Wild Hearts yet, think Monster Hunter set in Feudal Japan. Developed by Omega Force, the company behind the ever popular Dynasty Warriors franchise, Wild Hearts takes us into feudal Japan where fierce beasts infused with the raw power of nature itself, known as Kemono, are rampaging across the once peaceful Azuma. You take control of a formidable hunter equipped with lethal weapons and strange ancient tech known as Karakuri. The Karakuri will be your bread and butter when it comes to taking down these monstrosities, whether it’s in the form of quick traversal of the stunning landscape via, ballista-fired zip-wires, wooden spring boards or a handy glider or in combat with tools including a large wooden explosive and a mounted repeating crossbow. As you complete hunts, either alone or with friends in co-op, you will acquire materials used for upgrading and creating your arsenal. If you like to hunt giant monsters and hack-n-slash with your buddies then Wild Hearts is for you. 

Atomic Heart - 21st Feb 2023

The inevitable march of technology, along with covert research, has resulted in mutant beings, scary machines, and superpowered robots that are now rebelling against their creators. Only you can stop them and uncover the truth behind the utopian world. While at first glance Atomic Heart may seem familiar, a robotic Utopia gone wrong, naturally gives us Bioshock vibes and a communist alt future might invoke a feeling of Fallout, this game is very much its own beast. Mundfish have put love and care into their debut and Atomic Heart will bring surprises at every turn. Players take control of an intelligence agent known as P-3 as they try to discover the cause of the recent madness. With an arsenal of guns, melee weapons and a handy tech glove, you will need to use your wits to take down an array of unique enemies in visceral jaw-dropping combat as you explore the seamless open world.

Company of Heroes 3 - 23rd Feb 2023

If you’re a would-be commander or tactical prodigy then CoH 3 might be just what you need. In Company of Heroes 3, players take on the roles of both: Allied Troops during their invasion of Italy and Axis forces throughout their war in North Africa. New to the series is the Tactical Pause system, which allows the player to pause a fight and queue up commands to be executed when the game is resumed. Company of Heroes 3 also boasts a better destruction mechanism, which allows for more granular devastation, such as individual tiles and bricks crumbling off buildings. Italian Partisans are allied NPCs who can be utilized on the map or summoned during battle. The plot is dynamic, and the player's interactions with the game's numerous commanders can influence how the story ends.

Sons of the forest - 23rd Feb 2023

From the makers of the ‘The Forest’ comes the latest horror survival sim Sons of the Forest. After being sent to find a missing billionaire on a remote island, you soon discover that you have landed in a cannibal-infested nightmare. Experience the complete freedom to approach the world in your own way. You choose what you do, where you go, and how you will survive either alone or with friends. You will need to craft, build and hunt in order to survive the ever-changing seasons and the horrendous mutated creatures that call it home.

The Last of Us™ Part I - 3rd March 2023

The award-winning series and titular precursor to the popular HBO show, The Last of Us Part 1, is finally coming to PC. Joel, our restless protagonist, is contracted to smuggle 14-year-old Ellie out of a military quarantine zone in a devastated civilization rife with infected and hardened survivors. However, what begins as a minor task quickly turns into a grueling cross-country adventure. The phenomenal story will have you riding a tumultuous tide of emotions as you sneak, shoot, fight and run your way through ruined cities and countryside alike.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor - 17th March 2023

The sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has us once again following the exploits of Cal Kestis in this narratively driven, single-player action-adventure. The plot picks up five years after the events of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and it centers on Cal's progressively futile struggle as the galaxy further descends into darkness. The Empire has pushed Cal to the outer reaches of the galaxy, where he will need to utilize every tool at his disposal, including new lightsaber fighting techniques and force powers, to defeat both familiar and unfamiliar dangers. In the midst of the galaxy's darkest moments, Cal is compelled to take a stand as one of the last remaining Jedi Knights. But how far will he go to defend his crew, himself, and the Jedi Order's legacy?
