Redfall
Kicking off our list is Redfall, an open-world, single player and co-op FPS from Arkane Austin, the award-winning team behind both Prey and Dishonored. The town of Redfall, Massachusetts, is under siege from a legion of vampires who have blacked out the sun and left the local residents isolated from the outside world. As you solve the mysteries of the vampires' arrival, explore the open-world environment and dive into a deep and compelling adventure. The game smoothly integrates single-player and multiplayer modes, allowing the player to journey into the darkness alone or team up with up to four friends in co-op. Teammates can experiment with different hero loadouts and combine their talents to come up with inventive ways to deal with the vampire apocalypse. Amass an array of specialized weapons and personalize your character with unique upgrades and abilities to suit your playstyle.
Diablo 4
Diablo® IV promises to be the pinnacle of action RPG gaming, complete with boundless evil to annihilate, a myriad of classes and abilities to master, terrifying dungeons, and in true Diablo fashion; legendary riches. Explore a shared world where players may meet in towns to trade, team up to face world bosses, or dive into PVP areas to prove their skills against other players. Destiny 2: Lightfall
While Bungie has admitted to “missing the mark” with their latest Destiny 2 expansion, they have promised to release updates based on community feedback. Despite the overwhelming number of poor reviews, many players state that the gameplay of Destiny 2: Lightfall is some of the most fun they’ve had from the franchise in a long time. The DLC brings new powers to the player in the form of “Strand”; the elemental manifestation of darkness. Lightfall also brings a new raid, new exotics and a whole new story which will be expanded upon in 4 seasons according to Bungie.
Meet your Maker
In Meet your Maker you play as the Custodian of the Chimera: a living experiment and humanity’s last chance to save life on Earth. Players must devise devious death-traps in order to lure in other players and harvest their organic material to help their Chimera Evolve. Challenge and test your nerve against other players’ creations as you attempt to get in grab the genetic material and get out again. In Meet your Maker you can build and raid alone or with a friend. So grab a buddy, get creative and let the carnage commence.
Dead Island 2
After a long development Dead Island 2 is finally set for release on 21st April. Take to the gore-drenched streets of Hell-A in this sleek and stylish zombie-infested action-RPG. Meet characters who are larger-than-life, slice, punch, shoot and explode your way through a plethora of enemies in breathtakingly bloody detail and become the ultimate Zombie Slayer. The game supports multiplayer with up to 3 players in a single session for some unique and gore-filled adventures.
Overwatch 2
As the sequel to Overwatch and its replacement, Overwatch 2 has big boots to fill. The game offers faster gameplay than the original with the 6 player teams being reduced to 5. The game has also done away with the premium monetization of its predecessor as well as removing the ever-controversial loot boxes. If you’re a fan of team-based shooters and/or larger than life characters then Overwatch 2 might be exactly what you’ve been waiting for.
Counter Strike 2
Counter-Strike 2 promises to be the biggest leap in technical advancement that the series has ever received. While Valve are remaining fairly tight-lipped about what exactly CS2 has in store until their big reveal later this year, what we do know is that the game will offer new features and updates for years to come. One major upgrade is the new dynamic volumetric smoke that will expand into spaces naturally as well as interact with many other elements of the gameplay. The game will arrive this summer as a free upgrade to CS:GO.
Crash Team Rumble
In Crash Team Rumble, heroes and villains from the franchise team up in 4 v 4 cross-platform multiplayer Wumpa gathering mayhem. Choose your favourite character and jump into the arena wherein you and your team compete against your opponents to score the most fruit in the collection-zone. The game’s chaotic, crate-filled arenas have been crafted from iconic locations from the Crash universe. Use the environment to your advantage and collect game-changing special items to secure your Wumpa supremacy.
Victoria 3
If grand strategy is your thing, then Victoria 3 should already be in your gaming library as one of Paradox’s most anticipated titles of all time. If it isn’t or you’re new to the genre, Victoria 3 lets you build your ideal society in the 19th century. With dozens of nations to choose from with detailed population groups and their unique desires and economic needs there really is something for everyone. The game’s economic system is deep and extensive, allowing you to balance securing cheap raw materials, employing a labour force and taxing goods for the prosperity of your nation. Disney Speedstorm
Whether you’re a Disney fan or not, Disney Speedstorm is a solid battle-racer in its own right.
